Porto Ottiolu
Porto Ottiolu is a charming village located on the eponymous bay in the south-eastern part of Gallura, halfway between San Teodoro and Budoni.
Its port is one of the best equipped in Sardinia; it has more than 400 berths and benefits from a sheltered location which is ideal for any type of boat.
Rising up behind the port is the residential zone, with a typical piazzetta (town square) in which bars, restaurants, supermarkets, boutiques and various other businesses are open until late at night.
Porto Ottiolu is also famous for its magnificent beaches, such as the beautiful Cala Ottiolu, characterised by a fine white sand, shallow depths and incredibly transparent waters. This beach is full of services including parking, wheelchair access, bar, umbrella and chair rentals and refreshment points.
Budoni’s Li Cucutti beach is nearby, between the islets of Ottiolu and Punta Li Cucutti: it is a large white strand set against a lush pine forest, ideal for finding refreshment on hot days. The blue of the waters, with intense turquoise shades, contrasts with the pure white of the sand and the green of the vegetation, creating a Caribbean atmosphere. In addition, this beach is wheelchair-accessible and is equipped with various services such as refreshment points and establishments for renting umbrellas, deckchairs, paddle boats, etc.
The privileged location of Porto Ottiolu allows tourists to easily reach other famous seaside resorts such as Budoni, San Teodoro, Tavolara Island and Isola Molara, making it an ideal starting point to experience one of the most fascinating stretches of coast on the island.
